Confinement Playlist #1 - Bartleby Delicate
1. Bon Iver – For Emma, Forever Ago
Simply in love with this album. So many good songs and it taught me a lot about music. I’ve been hooked up on Bon Iver ever since.
2. Arthur Russell – Love Is Overtaking Me
I got introduced to Arthur Russell only recently by a guest musician who should have played with me at the Philharmonie in Luxembourg, the concert that got cancelled because of the Corona virus. I was reading a lot about him while listening to his music and I think that Arthur Russell is just very inspiring and one song of this album in particular, called ‚I couldn’t say it to your face’, just really touched me.
3. Surma – Antwerpen
I saw Surma last year perform live as support act for Lali Puna and I was blown away by her energy. Her album is a trascendent journey for me -I really love it.
4. Lali Puna – Faking The Books
Which brings me to Lali Puna, the band that was playing after Surma. I love indietronica music and they are one of the best for me. Faking the Books is my favourite album of Lali Puna.
5. Daniel Johnston – 1990
Daniel Johnston is just the purest songwriter I could imagine. No filter, just raw emotion that goes straight to your heart. A true artist.
6. Big Thief - Two Hands
My favourite album from 2019 because every song is amazing and I could listen to the album as a whole over and over again.
7. Frightened Rabbit – Midnight Organ Fight
This one is from my teenage years and I think it really resonated back then in me. Good indie music with great melodies that definitely influenced my songwriting a lot.
8. The Tallest Man on Earth – The Wild Hunt
Now that I need to be stuck at home, I need an album that takes me somewhere else. This one is transporting my mind to the woods in Sweden. And that’s what I need right now.
